Important note on eligibility
The international health insurance for longer stays must be purchased before you depart, while you still have your residence in Germany or Austria. You must be under 70 years of age at the start of your trip. Already abroad? Then the Protrip World Traveler is the right alternative for international travelers without a German residence.

What does deductible mean?
The deductible is the amount you pay yourself in the event of a claim. With Protrip German Traveler, it is €50 per claim. This means that you pay a one-time fee of €50 for treatment costs, and the insurance covers everything above that amount.
Example: Treatment costs €850. You pay €50, and we cover €800.
Advantage: The deductible significantly reduces your monthly premium – you only pay when you actually use the insurance.

How can the premium be paid?
The premium for this policy is to be paid at the conclusion of the insurance contract for the entire term of the insurance. You can choose from the following payment options:

The premium for this policy depends on the duration of the trip. Should you return early from your stay abroad, a phone call or an email is sufficient. We will then calculate your exact premium depending on the number of days you stayed abroad. You only need to pay for the actual insurance period. No service fee will be charged for reimbursement.

Proof in the Event of a Claim
To ensure that your insurance coverage can be verified smoothly in the event of a claim, we recommend that you document your departure from Germany. Please keep this proof in a safe place. We may request it even after your trip if a claim is submitted. If no suitable proof is available, benefits may be limited or denied in individual cases.
The proof must clearly identify the person, as well as the place and date of departure. Examples include a flight ticket, a passport stamp showing the date, or a photograph of the person together with an official document displaying the date.
