This is a long-term trip cancellation insurance that consists of two parts. The trip cancellation protection covers you before the start of the trip, the trip interruption protection covers you during the trip. With this insurance, we ensure that you are reimbursed for financial loss due to non-commencement, delayed commencement or interruption of the trip.

What is covered by Trip Cancellation insurance?

Insured reasons

	Death, accident injury, illness
	Pregnancy
	Significant damage to your property caused by a third party's criminal act, fire, or other natural forces
	Loss of the German workplace due to a redundancy dismissal
	Commencement of a new employment relationship with a new employer in Germany
	The repetition of a school year due to failure to advance insured in travel cancellation
	You miss your outbound or return flight because your public transport connection was delayed by at least two hours.

Exclusions – plain and simple

✖	The insured event was known to you at the time of booking or could have been foreseen by you.
✖	The trip can still be reasonably expected of you.
✖	You have a chronic illness that was treated in the six months prior to booking the trip or the insurance. This does not apply to check-ups or if you provide a certificate of no objection.
✖	You have a chronic mental illness, even if it occurs in episodes.
✖	The illness is a psychological reaction to an actual or feared war event, internal unrest, a terrorist act, or an aviation accident.
✖	Your inability to travel is due to loss, damage, or replacement of medical aids (such as glasses, hearing aids, or orthopedic devices).
✖	An appointed trusted medical examiner does not confirm your inability to travel for medical reasons.
✖	The cause lies in the outbreak of a recognized epidemic or pandemic (e.g., lockdown, quarantine), except if you yourself become ill with the disease.
✖	At the time of your trip start, there was a travel warning from the Foreign Office due to a pandemic or epidemic for your destination or country, but you travel anyway and become ill.
